EVENT: The City of Godley will be hosting a Planning and Zoning workshop on February 1st, 2022. This workshop will be held prior to the February 1st Council Meeting and will be used to discuss ideas, strategies and potential details regarding the new "P&Z Commission" that will help mold the Godley Community into the best it can be. This workshop is tentatively scheduled to start at 1500(3PM) on the 1st and last approximately 2 hours - once a notice of potential quorum and the official details of this workshop are posted I will provide those.
What is a Planning and Zoning Commission?
The P&Z Commission in a nutshell is an *advisory board* to the main governing body(City Council) on all planning, zoning and development issues.
How can I help?
The P&Z Commision, like the Council, will need volunteers who want to serve their community. This Commission will be a crucial part of our future as we navigate this bumpy and windy road called growth - by serving on this Commission you can help recommend ideas and changes to the City Council that will FOREVER impact our little town.

The precinct convention is the first step in the political convention process. This is where you can help set the Party's Platform, rules, and priorities for the Party. It is an effective way to make change happen! Anyone who wishes to get involved in their Precinct Convention can contact their Precinct Chair. Results of the State Constitutional Amendments are in
Our Data Committee is working on data that will indicate to us which precincts had the most votes and which ones had the least, so we can target specific areas better for the Primaries and Mid-Terms happening in 2022. More info on this coming soon.
Regarding Proposition #2: "Authorizes a county to issue bonds to fund infrastructure and transportation projects in undeveloped and blighted areas."
This Proposition passed, but Johnson County should be okay because there would have to be a bond election to approve any of these projects. The tricky thing is getting people to vote on these bond elections! We have seen bonds pass in the past due to very low voter turnout.
JCRV will be your eyes and ears for any bond elections. We will keep you informed as we learn about these in the future!

October 5
The Biden Administration has proposed requiring all community banks and other financial institutions to report to the IRS on deposits and withdraws of all business and personal accounts with a balance of $600.00 or more, regardless of tax liability. This indiscriminate, comprehensive bank account reporting to the IRS can soon be enacted in Congress and would create an unacceptable invasion of privacy. This IRS bank account profiling is intrusive, and compromises your privacy. Let's work together to spread the word about this misguided proposal. Contact #KeepMyBankingPrivate. Precinct TEAMS Training starts next week
JCRV is kicking-off Precinct TEAMS Training next week. Conservatives who have showed interest in volunteering at their precinct level are welcome to attend. It is our mission to educate conservative voters on issues, elections and candidates that directly impact Johnson County.
With important elections coming up in 2022, we are eager to receive volunteer support in helping JCRV achieve this goal! We know that Democrats are offering their constituents “activist training”, but JCRV has a different approach. We are here for the conservative voters, and it is our goal to provide consistent, relevant information to them, so that they can make their own decisions when casting their vote.
To start, we are offering two dates for this training. However, as TEAMS within the precincts grow, we will continue to offer additional training dates.
Anyone that you know who wishes to volunteer, please make them aware of this training.
Below are the dates currently available. Training will be about an hour long.
Monday, September 27 (6:30pm - 8:00pm)
Wednesday, September 29 (6:30pm - 8:00pm)

Precinct Chair Meeting and Training
Saturday, Precinct Chairs in Johnson County gathered for discussion and training on a multitude of topics. County Chair, Robin Wilson says, "Where the real work is done is politics at the precinct level." The result of these important discussions brought actions for more collaboration with other similar groups in the county; filling Precinct Chair positions where there is not one; vetting potential candidates; recruiting the right talent(s) that support our collective efforts; understanding issues of voters within the precincts to share at the County Convention; understanding the Democratic platform in order to organize ourselves for the upcoming mid-term elections …just to name a few.
